Between 10 and 10,000

Today is Tuesday, August 30, and I write to you while positioning my faith between 10 and 10,000. I need a miracle between those numbers. Beginning with a meeting at 10A, I am actively petitioning God and believing that the power of the future lies not in the hands of those who believe in scarcity but in those who trust God’s abundance.¹ I trust the abundance of God.

God can do anything, you know — far more than you could ever imagine, guess, or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.- Ephesians 3:20 (The Message Translation)

Most of us know of a miracle — a friend now cancer-free; a marriage restored, a doctor’s report reversed; or a _________ (fill in the blank). A miracle is an unexpected outcome that forms outside the reality of a given earthly situation. A miracle essentially is outside of our control; only God performs miracles.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. — Proverbs 3:5 (New International Version)

(Confession) Sometimes, I’ve failed to connect the dots between God’s provision and my human ability. I’ve been guilty of holding things too tightly. However, one of the gifts of 2022 is vividly seeing the miracles around me — miracles of love, relationship, friendship, and the forming of a more authentic Christ-like character. Life is a miracle!

You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing. — Psalm 23:5 (MSG)

I believe Jesus does the impossible. And today, as I seek God between 10 and 10,000, I declare the words of Psalm 77:14 (The Living Bible) “You are the God of miracles and wonders! You still demonstrate Your awesome power.”

Friends, I welcome your prayers surrounding this miracle. I believe that God has got this, and I cannot wait to see how God makes the crooked paths straight.

May the God of green hope fill you up with joy and peace so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope! — Romans 15:13 (MSG)

  1. “The power of the future lies not in the hands of those who believe in scarcity but of those who trust God’s abundance.” — Walter Brueggemann.
