“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” — Isaiah 54:10

In the adventure of life, when the storms rage and uncertainties loom around almost every corner, it is natural to feel overwhelmed. Our faith may waver, and we might question God’s presence and purpose. Yet, amid the chaos, God’s resounding assurance echoes through the ages: “All shall be well.”

A renowned Christian mystic, Julian of Norwich, once wrote, “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” Simple yet profound words remind us of God’s eternal perspective and unending love. Julian lived through the Black Death, a time of immense suffering, yet she was given a vision of God’s encompassing peace and love. Her words are a testament to faith that transcends circumstances.¹

In Isaiah 54:10, God speaks of an unwavering love and an unbreakable covenant of peace. God’s love remains steadfast despite the upheaval in our lives — personal trials, societal unrest, family tension, or global crises. This promise is a cornerstone of our faith, providing a solid foundation when everything else seems unstable.

C.S. Lewis once said, “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.”

This insight reveals that our challenges are not without purpose. We may not always come to Christ standing tall; often, we reach Him battered and bruised, but what matters is that we arrive. Let our trials be bridges, not walls. These experiences are molding and shaping us for greater things. God uses our trials to refine us, deepen our reliance on Him, and prepare us for the plans He has set before us.

Take a moment to reflect on the difficulties you have faced or are currently facing. How have these experiences brought you closer to God? In what ways have you felt His peace amid the turmoil? Which areas of your life feel uncertain and need to be touched by the promises of God’s love? Remember, as you reflect, all shall be well! Look yourself in the mirror and say: “All shall be well.” Sing over yourself, “All shall be well.” Climb a hill and shout: “All shall be well!”

Remember that God’s love for us is unwavering, and His covenant of peace is unshakeable. No matter what we face, we can rest in the assurance that, indeed, all shall be well.

Please pray with me:

Dear Lord, here we are in the middle of life’s storms; help us to hold onto Your promises. Remind us of Your unfailing love and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen our faith to believe that, despite the circumstances, all shall be well. Use our trials to refine our character and draw us closer to You. May we find comfort in Your eternal perspective and trust that You are working all things together for our good. In Jesus’ name, all shall be well. Amen.
